Euridice Arratia, the founder of Berlin’s Arratia Beer gallery, announced in a letter, on 25th of august of 2018, that after a twelve-year run the arts space has closed. Arratia established the mid-size gallery with Elizabeth Bee in 2006. She did not give a reason for the closure. Over the years, the gallery has worked with ibero-american artists such as Pablo Rasgado, Fernanda Fragateiro, Gabriel Acevedo or Javier Téllez, and have participated in some of the mayor ibero-american art fairs like ARCOmadrid and Zsona Maco. In the letter, Arratia thanked artists, performers, writers, curators, and friends, among others. “My appreciation goes also to the museum colleagues and committed collectors, who have followed and supported the program throughout the years,” she wrote. “And to the unknown visitor, who, after coming into the gallery repeated times to see the same exhibition, walked into the office simply saying ‘Thank you for doing this’ and walking away.”
