Exhibiting and promoting Spanish modern and contemporary art has been an important focus of the gallery program since its inception. It is with great interest that we have discovered and presented the diversity and the unique perspectives that Spanish art contributes to both the historical and the current dialogues of art. With this group exhibition, we further investigate but from an interesting new vantage point. We present works by Spanish artists of the gallery alongside those by two non-Spanish artists who have taken Spain into their work as inspiration and subject. The exhibition juxtaposes the view of the outsider looking in with those of the insider looking further inward, allowing a dialogue between the works to open up to the viewer.
