Descripción de la Exposición
Presenting works by Carlos Alarcón, Mario Arroyave, Armando Castro,Anibal Gomescasseres, Max Steven Grossman, Daniela Mejía, Juan Carlos Rivero-Cintra, Pedro Ruiz, Santiago Uribe-Holguín and Elsa Zambrano. Beatriz Esguerra Art presents a special two-day exhibition in Miami, Independent Voices, featuring eight gallery artists with a unique ability to express their point of view within the context of contemporary culture. The show will take place at Museo Vault Viewing Room, 346 West 29th Street, on Friday February 12 and Saturday February 12 from 10AM to to 6PM. Please join us in celebrating these independent and authentic voices. Each of the artists included has a distinct vision, dedicated practice and mastery of their diverse materials. Photographers Max-Steven Grossman and Mario Arroyave work in series, transforming everyday objects and activities into something remarkable. Grossman creates fantasy libraries, carefully selecting each title to create profound psychological and emotional resonance, while Arroyave captures the rhythmic movement and balletic interplay ... of extreme sports like underwater rugby and water polo. Anibal Gomescasseres's light boxes combine new technology with classic imagery, utilizing flat geometric planes to offer an alternate reality. Pedro Ruiz is concerned with the displacement of a country in conflict. He creates beautiful and harmonious paintings that use iconic Colombian imagery to show that our collective memory can move beyond painful memories of loss and sorrow. Juan Carlos Rivero-Cintra, cuban, also speaks of displacements but on a mental level. The softened geometry in the paintings of Santiago Uribe-Holguín show the influence of Spanish Informalism, referencing real and imagined landscapes, calling to mind the varied and essential texture of the earth itself. Carlos Alarcón, Armando Castro, Daniela Mejia and Elsa Zambrano each work with objects and figures, but in very different ways. Alarcon's detailed and delicate drawings show man and object in direct relationship to each other, using negative space as an integral element; Castro views the world from above, isolating the figures in his landscape, incorporating the very fragility of the torn and bent cardboard he paints on as part of his composition. Mejía creates a strong connection between human figure and landscape and Zambrano's work is both thoughtful and playful, riffing on masterpieces of art history to remind us of their parallel lives in the ever-changing world of pop culture. Museo Vault is located just minutes from the Art Wynwood Fair, The Margolies Collection and the Rubell Collection and offers free parking to visitors.
