The Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition presents contemporary art as a means of cultural expression while establishing international exchange and discussion. The exhibition also provides artists and curators with a public forum for their creativity and concepts, while promoting the re-evaluation of cultural borders. Entitled Melancholy in Progress, the third Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition is curated by Amy Cheng and Jau-lan Guo, who have devoted the exhibition to conflicts and problems arising from the progression of modernity in the world's various regions. In these anxious times complicated by the recent world financial crisis, we anticipate this exhibition giving careful consideration to the current state of the world will inspire new possibilities for progressive thinking.
