NoguerasBlanchard is pleased to announce the third edition of the Curatorial Open Call, which invites individuals or collectives to submit a proposal for curating an exhibition at NoguerasBlanchard space in Madrid. The successful proposal will take place in April 2014 (opening April 5th) within the context of Jugada a 3 bandas.

The selected curator/s will receive a maximum of euros 4.000 in concept of honorarium and exhibition production budget. NoguerasBlanchard will provide administrative and production support, design and mailing of the press release/invitation and an opening reception. The curator/curatorial collective must be in Madrid for the installation period and for the opening day.

The final version of the selected project will be developed and finalized in close collaboration with the team of NoguerasBlanchard, with the purpose of taking into account financial constraints, artists requirements and the architectural specificities and local context of the venue.

The selected proposals of previous Open Calls have been 'Case Report' by Lorenzo Sandoval (Madrid, 1980) in 2012 and 'Can't Hear My Eyes' by Niekolaas Johannes Lekkerkerk (Rotterdam, 1988) in 2013. Image documentation of both exhibitions can be found on the gallery website.

Information about NoguerasBlanchard

NoguerasBlanchard opened its first space in Barcelona in 2004. We are dedicated to developing a cross-disciplinary international gallery programme, reflecting a variety of conceptually-motivated positions and practices. The gallery´s main goal is to engage in a long-term commitment with the careers of its artists and to be highly involved in the production of works as well as off-site projects. We are co-producing films, funding biennial projects, artist's books and publications while working in close alliance with international galleries and institutions.

In 2011 we launched the first international Curatorial Open Call where we dedicate a yearly exhibition to emerging curatorial practices. Other initiatives to engage the local public include the 'Kitchen Talks', where we regularly invite artists, critics, curators and other cultural agents to give informal talks in the gallery.

In September 2012 we opened a second exhibition space in Madrid in order to generate new audiences, contexts and possibilities. Located on Doctor Fourquet between the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía en La Casa Encendida, the neighbourhood has become a reference for Madrid's contemporary arts scene.
