Descripción del Premio

A six-week thematic program with a range of four to six participants, providing a space to exchange and cooperation between international artists and agents of the cultural field. The residency focuses on a specific theme and promotes research and artistic development around it, but it is not necessary to have a work in progress or a line of research previously related to it. The topic and its theoretical and visual framework aim to invite the participants to a certain atmosphere and proposal, but with total freedom. Residents are encouraged to participate actively, interacting with the fellows, researching, experimenting in their creative process, being open to artist talks, open studios and group proposals. An outcome and final presentation are required, as well as sharing the process and development of the work on a weekly basis. Fluent English is necessary for a complete experience. _____ - Full designed program for the entire duration of the residency. - ... Weekly group meetings hosted by the BONFIRE directors (LEMOS + LEHMANN). - Curatorial support during the research and development of the projects. - Lectures by professional guests on the topic of the residency to provide new insights. - Peer-mentoring with former residents to enhance comradery and cooperation amongst the BONFIRE participants. - Becoming part of the international BONFIRE network: getting access to new opportunities and proposals. - Diffusion and promotion through the BONFIRE website and social media channels. - Artist talks, open studios, presentations and feeds on our social media. - Residency profile on the BONFIRE website. - Personal profile on the BONFIRE website including artist video and solo gallery The programs are open to participants from 21 years old, solo or duo, emerging, mid-career or established ones, from all around the world. Candidates will be selected based on their work and professional background, as well as their motivation to be part of the program. Applications are free of charge. The residency fee is 330€. At the moment, we cannot offer personal funding but we can provide you with the necessary documentation in case you want to apply for an external grant.
