Descripción del Premio

The Boghossian Foundation is launching its first international Art Prize to encourage intercultural dialogue and support artists with a wide range of practices. Reflecting its mission to bridge East and West through the arts, the Boghossian Foundation launches an international prize to celebrate artists whose work fosters a better mutual understanding among cultures. The prize is intended to pay tribute, each year, to three artists for their work promoting a dialogue between civilizations, in the fields of visual arts, design and crafts, and jewellery. The Visual Arts Prize will be awarded to a piece of art inspired by cultural dialogue. The Design and Crafts Prize reflects the importance of reconsidering everyday objects through the lens of ancestral Eastern craftsmanship. The Jewellery Prize seeks to explore modern jewellery by borrowing from the vast heritage of the world’s cultures. Chaired by Jean and Albert Boghossian, the jury will gather some of the leading figures of the international art scene: Marie-Claude Beaud (exhibition curator), Daniel Blanga Gubbay (director of the Kunstenfestivaldesarts), Bernard Coulie (professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters and a member of the UCLouvain Institute for the Study of Civilisations, Arts and Letters), Chris Dercon (managing director of the Fondation Cartier), Julia Garimorth (chief curator at the Musée d’art Moderne de la Ville de Paris), Diane Hennebert (Founder and director of Out of the box), Jean-Noël Jeanneney (historian), Pascale Mussard (founder of Petit h), Alfred Pacquement (art historian and museum curator), Louma Salamé (director of the Boghossian Foundation—Villa Empain). The prize includes an amount of 36,000 EUR (12,000 EUR each winner) and an invitation to the artists’ residency. Applications until September 15, 2024 via the Boghossian Foundation’s website.
