"For the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, OpenArtExchange will open its doors from March 10 onwards for the special international exhibition Undertow. The undertow is usually invisible, but unmistakably present, moving its own natural way, often in a different direction from the observable upstream. Typically, female artists are less visible in the international art world, but they have always been around with their own vision and sound. In Undertow we offer a stage to twelve female artists with diverse cultural backgrounds from the US, Mexico, South-Africa, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Austria, France, UK, Georgia and Australia, representing various generations with paintings, mixed media works, paper cuttings, photographs and sculptures in different styles and techniques. They each tell their story and reflect on the world as they experience it."
