Jay A. Clarke has been appointed curator of the Art Institute of Chicago in December 2017 . She will work in the department of prints and drawings, and will take up the post on April 1, 2018. Clarke will oversee the department’s efforts in research, publishing, acquisitions, and exhibitions. Previoulsy, Jay served as the curator of prints, drawings, and photographs at the Sterling and Francine Clark Institute since 2009. During her tenure there, she organized twelve exhibitions, including: “The Impressionist Line from Degas to Toulouse-Lautrec” (2013 and 2017), “Machine Age Modernism” (2015), “No Rules: Helen Frankenthaler Woodcuts” (2017), and “Picasso|Encounters” (2017).
