Lena Mucha (1983, Germany) is a german freelance photographer currently based in Berlin, Germany. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Social Anthropology and Political Sciences from the University of Cologne, Germany in 2011. Lena had lived several years in Latinamerica, where she worked on human right topics in Guatemala and Colombia. She covered assignments for NGOs and local newspapers, and organized participatory photography workshops. From 2013 till 2015 she was studying photography in Barcelona, Spain. In 2014 she was awarded with the first prize of the international photography contest Iber-rutas and the Albarracin Seminar for Photojournalism Schoolarship with her recent longterm-project about the young spanish Roma generation. Recently she was selected as finalist at the Athens Photo Festival 2015 and the Alex Masi Workshop in Krakow and awarded at the Photo Annual Awards in Czech Republic. Lenas work has been exhibited and published internationally (El Pais, 6mois, Lensculture, Private Portfolio Review, Lenscratch, Creative Review and emerge - german magazine for young photojournalism amongst others).
