Together with her husband Robert, Renée Drake has been collecting contemporary art since 1990. Their collection, considered one of the most important in the world, includes painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, installation and video. Within their collecting activities, education plays an important role. They have initiated a travelling exhibition of works from the collection that is incorporated into several arts curricula at universities in the United States. Renée is a member of the Africa Acquisitions Committee, which was launched in 2011 to support The Tate Modern in London in collecting art from Africa, and with her husband is member of the International Advisory Board of the São Paulo Biennial Foundation.
