YUKA TSURUNO GALLERY is a contemporary art gallery active in the primary market. Director Yuka Tsuruno was born in Tokyo, graduated from Gakushuin Womens College (Cultural History) and The City College, The City University of New York (Studio Art), and established the gallery in 2009. With its keen attention to concept, context, and quality, the gallery showcases the work of prominent international artists including Candida Hofer and Jose Parla, while also nurturing the careers of emerging artists in Japan, in various media include painting, sculpture, video, photography, and installation. The gallery holds solo shows for its gallery artists, while also providing unique opportunities for them by inviting external artists and curators for special projects. To date, the gallery has produced and published several artist catalogs and monogram photo book. In March 2013, the gallery has expanded and moved into Tolot/heuristic SHINONOME, a museum class art center in Tokyo, and in September 2016, the gallery will move into a new art complex in Tennoz.
