The title of the exhibition borrows the surname of the legendary Brazilian snooker player. Rui Chapéu [Hat] has never been a national champion, but the elegance of his mathematic and nicely choreography at the billiard tables (in Brazilian Portuguese) make me think the need of pleasure when making art and not only.
In times, "giving a hat", in Brazilian popular slang, can mean "deluding", "cheating", but without the negative charge that these terms can be victims. In my view, here, the "hat" has more to do with enchantment than anything else.
Well, in PhilosophicalHat - a show about LOVE LOST LET IT GO OR AS WISH, this state is the goal. Produced between November 2016 and January 2017, the works consist of different materials, weights and temperatures ... they have the languages interlaced, glued, superimposed ... Together, they speak to us in a non-symmetrical way about communication, art and art system (difference...between the two names is great...), friends, relationships, drugs... the way we communicate today… by symbols and codes. Let this TODAY go beyond just mine.
