We are delighted to announce that the 11th edition of ART021 Contemporary Art Fair will take place at Shanghai Exhibition Center from 9th to 12th November. Marking the highest number of participating galleries as well as the largest scale of the fair to date, it sees almost 150 finest galleries from 16 countries and regions, and 34 cities worldwide, bringing forth nearly ten thousand artworks. ART021 will showcase a vigour art scene and increasing interest in international exchange.
With a global vision based on local root, ART021 commits to provide a global communication and trading platform for galleries, museums, art institutions, collectors and art lovers. As a main project in the 22nd Shanghai International Arts Festival, and the major sector of the 5th Shanghai International Art Trade Week, ART021 continues to enhance the influence of Shanghai’s art industry, making it an international art trading center, and developing the ‘Shanghai brand’ in...the global scope.
MAIN GALLERIES presents 129 high quality galleries, among them 24 galleries are participated for the first time. Numerous blue-chip galleries provide outstanding contemporary art masterpieces to kick off the most important art feast this year. It will be a rare opportunity to see museum-quality pieces and potential works. Some galleries from art hotspots all over the world bring all-embracing artworks in line with leading edge of global contemporary practice. This year also sees numerous galleries presenting collectible design and art jewelry to make more inspiration. Immersive space will be designed to adapt at the fair by a world-class digital art gallery. As a strong supporter for Chinese contemporary art, ART021 champions galleries from 17 cities across the country make a brilliant assemble. It includes representative galleries from top-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, as well as art spaces from regions such as Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Xinjiang. Together they dedicate to explore artistic resources within the local context and showcase the latest practices in contemporary art integrated with diverse regional and cultural frameworks.
APPROACH focuses on emerging galleries who represent for different regions and cultural contents and grow up together with young artists. Featuring 20 galleries and 11 of them are new comers, it will showcase the young force from China, Korea, Greece, Japan, France, Canada, Latvia, and Russia. Their works span from painting, sculpture, installation and video, digging the possibilities with culture differences in today’s world.
BEYOND aims to break the boundaries, creating brand new artistic forms and experiences through site-specific installations and engage the public to interact with contemporary art. SPECIAL PROJECT includes established auction houses, non-profit institutions, designer studios and leading art-book publisher. They will demonstrate the broader vision and cultural depth of the fair. More programme collaborated with world-class fashion house is to be released soon.
After finishing the journey of a decade, ART021 will forge ahead and make further progress in the future. We are delighted to partner with Porsche China, DIOR, Hennessy, Ruinart and SHANG XIA to present a vibrant art landscape for art lovers and practice corporate social responsibility.
