Nos complace compartir el lanzamiento oficial de la CRAFTWORK Academy, con el primer programa piloto que tendrá lugar en Skövde, Suecia, del 5 al 7 de septiembre de 2025. Esta iniciativa forma parte del proyecto europeo CRAFTWORK 4.0 AL, cofinanciado por el programa Creative Europe de la Unión Europea, y está diseñada para apoyar el desarrollo de prácticas sostenibles y preparadas para el futuro en las artes, el diseño y la artesanía creativa. Como socio comprometido, Espronceda – Institute of Art & Culture contribuye activamente al diseño e implementación de este innovador modelo de formación, que une tradición, herramientas digitales y economías circulares. La CRAFTWORK Academy ofrece a los participantes seleccionados formación gratuita, mentoría y acceso a una red internacional de profesionales, ayudándoles a prosperar en el actual panorama cultural en evolución. ------------------------------------------------- Stone & Soul: Sustainable Lithography, Linoleum and Paper for Contemporary Artists – Discover timeless printmaking techniques with an eco-conscious approach Are you a crafter or creative passionate about paper, lithography or linoleum? Do you want to explore how craft can contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive and entrepreneurial society? Then join us for Stone & Soul: Sustainable Lithography, Linoleum and Paper for Contemporary Artists – Discover timeless printmaking techniques with an eco-conscious approach, a dynamic 3-day workshop and hybrid hackathon at Helliden Folk High School, a renowned centre for paper crafts! The workshop is designed as a hybrid learning experience, allowing participants to choose whether to attend fully online or in-person, depending on their location and availability. What is Craft Academy Sweden? Stone & Soul: Sustainable Lithography, Linoleum and Paper for Contemporary Artists is an innovative event that brings together makers, artisans and entrepreneurs to: Learn from experts in paper, lithography and linoleum. Co-create new craft products and ideas. Explore the themes of sustainability, inclusiveness and entrepreneurship in craft. Develop business skills to bring craft to a European market. Network with a vibrant community of fellow creatives. What will you do? During this immersive 3-day experience, you will: Participate in hands-on workshops to deepen your knowledge of lithography, paper and linoleum techniques. The participants will be working in one of the 3 groups specializing in either Lithography, Paper or Linoleum. Collaborate in teams to design and prototype craft products that address contemporary challenges. Learn how to integrate sustainability, inclusiveness and entrepreneurship into your creative practice. Develop a business plan to introduce your co-created products to a wider market. Present your ideas and prototypes to a panel of experts and receive valuable feedback. Who should apply? Crafters and creatives working in or exploring the realms of paper, lithography and linoleum (with little or no prior experience in the techniques). Individuals with a passion for innovation and collaboration. Those interested in exploring the intersection of craft and social impact. Makers looking to develop their entrepreneurial skills. At the end of the programme, all participants will receive an official Certificate of Achievement, a recognised document formally issued and signed by the Helliden Folk High School and bearing the CraftWork4All label and providing a detailed record of the activities undertaken, the outputs produced and the competences acquired throughout the programme. The awarding of the Certificate of Achievement is strictly subject to full attendance and active participation in all scheduled programme activities. We welcome applications from both emerging and experienced practitioners! Event Details Dates: September 5-7, 2025 (travelling dates: 4th and 8th of September 2025) In-person location: Helliden Folk High School, Skövde, Sweden Online participation: Details regarding online platform and access will be provided to selected participants. Online participants will engage in theoretical discussions, contribute to idea generation and work remotely with a Craft piece in Linoleum that will be presented. Attendance: full attendance and active participation in all planned activities of the programme are compulsory Format: 3-day workshop / hybrid hackathon Participants: 28 in-person, 22 online We are looking for: 2 in-person and 2 online participants from each of the following Countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Croatia, France, Ireland, Slovenia, Serbia, Slovakia. 6 in-person and 2 online participants from Sweden. Outcomes By the end of the Craft Academy, you will have: Contributed to the creation of innovative and sustainable craft pieces* Gained valuable knowledge and skills in traditional and contemporary craft techniques. Developed a business plan for bringing craft products to European markets. Become part of a strong, collaborative community of practice. Participation Conditions Selected participants will be required to attend all programme sessions — either online or in-person — and actively engage in all planned activities. Full attendance is compulsory to be eligible for the final Certificate of Achievement. Before the start of the programme, all selected participants will be asked to sign a Craft Academy Agreement, between the Sending Organisation, Hosting Organisation and the participant, outlining the programme objectives, participation commitments, responsibilities and the conditions for certification. The selection criteria are designed to ensure that participants selected for the Stone & Soul: Sustainable Lithography, Linoleum and Paper for Contemporary Artists will thrive in the programme and meaningfully contribute to its collaborative learning environment. Applications will be evaluated based on the following key qualities: What we are looking for: selection criteria Craft & Artistic vision: Skills and creative practice in paper, lithography or linoleum (relative to experience). Originality, creativity and strength of artistic vision demonstrated in portfolio or work samples. Engagement with themes: Genuine interest in sustainability, entrepreneurship, experimentation and creative collaboration. Motivation to apply learning within their own context; English knowledge: Good level of English to actively participate in workshops, discussions and collaborative activities within an international group of participants. Please note: the programme is delivered in a hybrid format. Applicants will be able to choose to attend either fully online or in-person in Sweden, depending on their availability and location. Regardless of the chosen mode, full attendance and active participation remain mandatory. Online participation requirement: please be aware that online participants will need to use their own materials and tools in their own workspace to engage effectively in these workshops/learnings.
