Descripción de la Exposición

STANDART Triennial of Contemporary Art [STANDART, Trienal de Arte Contemporânea] será o primeiro encontro do público armênio com um dos expoentes da fotografia moderna brasileira e fundador da Escola Paulista de Fotografia de origem armênia. Intitulada Distant Fragments [Fragmentos Distantes] a exposição pretende apresentar, pela primeira vez na capital armênia, uma retrospectiva do trabalho de Gaspar Gasparian trazendo ao público fotografias do artista realizadas entre as décadas de 40 e 60 com a curadoria de Ruben Arevshatyan. ________________________ The exhibition of Gaspar Gasparian in Yerevan in the context of STANDART Triennial of Contemporary Art will be the first encounter of the Armenian public with one of the most outstanding artists of the 20th century of Armenian origin whose impact on the development of modern Brazilian art of photography is invaluable. One of the founders of the "São Paulo school of the photography" Gasparian was not only experimenting with forms, light, optical distortions, and abstract transformations which were so specific to mid-20th century photography, but also developed a distinct perspective in his oeuvre by structuring new visions fragmented perceptions of reality. The subtle remoteness formed by the artist between the look at the things and the contexts they belonged to formed a visual sensation of a space that was open to imaginary interactions and flâneuring; a distance between fragments of subjective experience and structured new objectivity.
