Descripción de la Exposición

Nara Roesler is pleased to announce Empty Head, Raul Mourão’s first solo exhibition in its New York gallery, opening on Tuesday, April 27. The presentation brings a selection of recent works that synthesize and connect his formal investigations to a political critique of contemporary issues. The exhibition's highlights are three new sculptures, part of Mourão’s Rebel series, which is the result of an investigation that the artist has continuously developed over the past two decades involving urban structures, particularly those used to delineate and divide public and private spaces. The installations are interactive objects, rather than kinetic sculptures, as the public's touch is fundamental to activating the structure.
