EXPO CHICAGO (September 19–22, 2019), the International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art, has established the city of Chicago as a preeminent art fair destination. Opening the fall art season every September, EXPO CHICAGO takes place at historic Navy Pier whose vast vaulted architecture hosts leading international art galleries alongside one of the highest quality platforms for global contemporary art and culture, including panel discussions, uniquely curated site-specific projects, cutting-edge film and new media work, curator-led tours, and special exhibitions by renowned institutions.Dedicated to rigorous and challenging programming, EXPO CHICAGO hosts a series of initiatives including the /Dialogues panel series, featuring provocative artistic discourse with leading artists, curators, designers, and arts professionals on the current issues that engage them; IN/SITU, featuring large-scale sculptures, site-specific, video and new media works installed throughout Navy Pier; IN/SITU Outside, a curated selection of public artworks installed throughout the City of Chicago; OVERRIDE | A Digital Billboard project, in which 2019 EXPO CHICAGO exhibitors and artists are invited to exhibit throughout Chicago’s City Digital Network (CDN); Curatorial Initiatives, which engages and provides exciting opportunities to mid-career and established curators; and more. The 2019 edition of EXPO CHICAGO will align with the third edition of the Chicago Architectural Biennial to present various programs and events throughout EXPO ART WEEK (September 15–22, 2019) including panel discussions, performances, and activations across the city.
