Javier León Pérez titled this project Infinite Ornament because it refers to the cosmic order brought to a closer environment and that ultimately find a correlation to our own mental environments. Ornament like the word Cosmos has the same Greek root that refers to order. The ornament is a formula to order and encompass a specific space and its purpose is to beautify it. The use of the repetition of elements are present following different types of progressions and forms closely related to the times, geographical area and above all with the way of thinking at a particular moment. In this way, Pérez’s work proposes an organic and fractal way of ordering light through paper, filtering and coloring it, with the repetition of formal elements. Each piece of this exhibition is conceived as part of a whole ensemble which, in turn, is capable of being repeated infinitely.
