From Wednesday, April 30th to Sunday, May 4th, 2025, KunstRAI’s festive 40th-anniversary edition took place in the Parkhal (Hall 8) of RAI Amsterdam. As one of the oldest and most versatile art fairs in the Netherlands, KunstRAI provides a platform for galleries and artists from both the Netherlands and abroad. This edition was a unique opportunity to discover a wide array of contemporary art. This special edition was a true celebration of art and culture. With over 100 participants from the Netherlands and beyond, KunstRAI 2025 was the perfect place to uncover new artists and galleries or revisit renowned names in the art world. The diversity of art forms—ranging from paintings and sculptures to photography and design—made the event accessible and engaging for all art enthusiasts. What made this edition particularly special was its overlap with Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary celebrations. This offered a unique opportunity to combine and celebrate two significant milestones. Special programmes and collaborations with Amsterdam-based institutions and artists highlighted the connection between the city and art. The Backstage Academy, for example, was a special presentation where artists from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam showcased their work. The KunstRAI 2025 fringe programme was more extensive than ever. Visitors enjoyed exclusive guided tours, inspiring talks and live performances during the Artist Night. This programme offered a unique way to not only view art but also experience it. Additionally, the Focus Amsterdam section featured seven galleries with unique ties to the city, collectively presented at the Focus Amsterdam Square. KunstRAI 2025 had something for everyone. This 40th-anniversary edition was a unique opportunity to embrace the future of art while reflecting on four decades of contemporary creativity. Thank you for joining us and see you next year!
