The day is coming" alludes to the sunrise, a new beginning after a night interlude that constitutes a moment of rest for some, and for others is the time in which they live the greater part of their lives. Daybreak enhances the temporal discordance present in places where these two different realities coexist, a meeting point for those starting the day and the others that are extending the night-time, stretching the hours and the limits imposed by the calendar. These two realities only share a time of uncertainty and the irony of having time itself for the sole certainty. The present work by the artist Carla Filipe is the outcome of a two-year direct participation in the nightlife culture related to Porto's electronic music scene. It expresses the need of playing an active role in the creation of culture in these cohabitated places that have volatile and transient rules and codes.
