This exhibition brings together works that Marta Wengorovius have done since 2012, in a continuous investigation around the issue of attention, orientation and mapping. Using very different media, the artist refers to a concept-sentence that can serve as an hermeneutical key of her work: One, Two and Many. This expression allows us to understand three different regimes of relation between the constituent elements of the world, our horizon of possibilities: the individual, the pair and the community, in its multiple declinations, from the cell to the cosmos.
The maps, scores or instructions for use that are shown here propose an activation of the spectator, also declined as one, two and many. His participation is decisive for the existence of the work - it exists there, when it makes him capable: of feeling, of thinking, of acting. This works are proposals for exercise, both material and spiritual, to discover the ability to...concentrate, the knowledge of nature and the potentialities of the body: moving or standing, dancing or drawing, in the territory or in the paper sheet. The stage is ours. Instead of leaving us out and supposedly safe on the shore, it demands that we throw ourselves into the water, that we entire whole. Here, to redraw the horizon on which we move, the work is at work.
