António Olaio (1963, Lubango, Angola) Lives in Coimbra. Has a bachelor degree by the Fine Arts School of Porto, 1987 and a PHD by the University of Coimbra, 2000. He is a Professor at the Architecture Course and he is the Director of Colégio das Artes at the University of Coimbra. Investigator at the Social Studies Center. His performances of the 19080’s lead him to music, in a path were the use of several mediums (painting, drawing, vídeo and music), occurs from a strong relation with performance.

His work is represented in several public collections: Secretaria de Estado da Cultura, Fundação de Serralves, Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra, Museu Extremeño Ibero-Americano de Arte Contemporânea (Badajoz, Espanha), EDP, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea / Museu do Chiado, among others.
